Seminar on Safer Internet and Online Security

We, Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel Manjushree, are celebrating entire February as "Safer Internet Month", which is part of European project in-safe. Previously, we had emailed everyone of our first project, Radio Awareness in Kantipur FM, facilitated by Rtr. Amit Bajracharya and Rtr. Rijendra Man Shakya.

As part of this campaign, we like to invite you all to a seminar on "Safer Internet and Online Security", facilitated by members of our club and an IT-professional, Mr. Bibek Shrestha. The focus of this seminar will be on social networking websites and online security vulnerability.

Highlights of the seminar include:

• Social Networking (primarily Facebook): Privacy settings, customizing views, Facebook apps, device registration, bypass fan/like pages, instant personalization, public search
• Email spoofing/spamming: How to identify such emails.
• Phishing websites
• Social engineering and password trap
• Proper usage of cyber cafes
• Google Group - NepSecure: Nepali computer security and hacking community
• SQL injections

This seminar will be beneficial for both Technical (IT) as well as other professionals who use Facebook, email system and online documentation. The seminar will be divided into two groups: IT Professionals/students & Non-IT professionals/students.
