2010 Twin Cities Open Badminton Tournament

SATURDAY & SUNDAY
OCTOBER 23rd & 24th, 2010
Entry Fees
Students 18 and under: $12
(Flat Rate for all events entered.)
Adults: $21 first event, $10 for each additional
event.
Maximum three events.

Schedule of Events
Saturday October 23rd
8:30 am - Registration/Check In
9:00 am - All Singles
12:00 pm - All Doubles (Approximate Time)
3:00 pm - All Mixed (Approximate Time)
6:00 pm - Day Ends
Sunday October 24th
9:00 am - Warm Up
9:30 - Remaining Matches and Finals
2:00 pm - End of Tournament

Format
ABCD drop-flight draws. Minimum of 4 entries per
event. If fewer than 8 entries in a category, doubleelimination
and/or round robin formats may be
used. Maximum 32 entries per event. At least two
(2) matches per event entered. Rally scoring for
all matches (best 2 out of 3 games). A fifteen (15)
minute default and five (5) minute warm up will be
enforced.

Deadline
October 13, 2010
Entries accepted in the order received; entries for
doubles are considered ‘received’ upon receipt of
BOTH partners’ entries.
Note: This tournament is not sanctioned by
the USA Badminton Association, therefore
membership is NOT required to enter.

Miscellaneous
All matches will be played with feather shuttles.
Feather shuttles available for $1.50 each in limited
quantities per person. Feather shuttles supplied
free for final matches. If both teams agree to play
with nylon shuttles they may do so. Tournament
coordinators will NOT supply any nylon shuttles.
Drinks and snacks will be available for sale.
Family and friends are welcome to attend and
watch but MAY NOT play badminton whether for
fun or otherwise due to liability during the course
of the tournament.

Mandatory Waiver
Every participant in the 2010 Twin Cities Open
Badminton Tournament will be required to sign a
waiver upon arrival at the tournament. This waiver
will waive any and all claims against the Twin
Cities Badminton Club, its members, and The Colin
Powell Center for injury to yourself or others, or
for property loss or damage incurred during the
course of the tournament.
Failure to sign the waiver will mean you cannot
participate in the tournament.
