The soccer team's famous red and yellow shirts will bear the branding of the DigitalBits blockchain, whose foundation is supporting the partnership. Additionally, the club will use the DigitalBits blockchain to create digital player cards and digital collectible NFTs of current and historical moments in the Club's near 100-year history. They will also integrate DigitalBits native token, which is called XDB, as a new purchasing method. This will allow AS Roma fans to interact with the club in blockchain-based shared virtual worlds, and reward fans in possession of the teams digital assets, NFTs, and XDB tokens access to new live experiences like game day activations from inside the stadium.
In the first half of 2020, the pandemic limited extremely attractive opportunities for new brand integration deals, forcing many brands to rethink their digital approach. It made brands look to the metaverse for ways to reach younger consumers who are more tech-savvy and want to create powerful emotional connections with brands. As a result, we saw brands are willing to invest in strategic integration of their logos and products in new ways that will help expose their assets in new, meaningful ways.
"Partnerships like the one are the beginning of NFT experiences that take fans beyond transactional shopping offerings, which provide only ownership of a digital asset in an idle wallet. Brands and sports teams alike start seeking the additional Layer of NFT utility, which embodies gamification mechanics and contextual meaning, said Tommaso Di Bartolo, Silicon Valley based UC Berkeley Faculty, serial-entrepreneur, author and startup investor.
With this partnership AS Roma is expanding the collective imagination of what it means for fans to be connected to their teams, the future of branding is bright with new technologies like the blockchain, which can help prioritize the security, speed, and cost-savings benefit of industries such as professional sports and reach a new generation of fans that think digital first and find digital ownership attractive.
With new tech comes great responsibility. But for brands, big and small, the ability to capitalize on new trends and technologies can help them to redefine the relationship between the brand and the consumer.
This partnership points to a large and historical sports organization looking for ways to better connect with its own players, while bridging the gap between the team and its fans. This is the modern-day definition of brand and customer loyalty.
With the ability to integrate and accept a native blockchain-based digital assets and collectibles, giving fans access to virtual worlds and allowing them to access special activations because of their fandom can be a game changer for sports marketing.
According to Rossow, this has the potential to re-shape the ways in which these contracts are drawn up, forcing businesses of all types to educate themselves on the world of decentralized finance and financial literacy.
AS Roma, DigitalBits and Zytara Labs, are hoping this partnership will demonstrating how blockchain technology can be leveraged to elevate the connection between sports teams and their community of fans and supporters, on their way to reaching new audiences, allowing the players to elevate their brands further and expand their brand further into the digital world.
I don't feel like this is complex enough to call a true instructable (literally just putting a ball into a mesh sack), it is more of a life hack for dog people and or people with pets that are interested in soccer balls.
The problem is that all his flaunting and biting destroys the outside of the ball. I was going through a ball a month or so but then stopped for good when I realized he was unintentionally eating bits of the soccer skin.
The first thing I tried was getting one of those ChuckIt! Kick Fetch balls, which are these foam balls with tough fabric on the outside. I think the ball is great, seems tough and it is puncture proof because of the sport foam core. However, Bunk could not pick it up with his small teeth. He likes to chase it, but he can't grab it. The ball is definitely meant for a larger dog. All that being said Bunk's favorite fetch ball is the rubber ChuckIt! ball for small dogs.
The next ball I tried was a orange fabric ball I picked up from HomeGoods. Seemed soft enough for Bunk to get his teeth into and sturdy enough for me to kick. This ball lasted about a month or so, may have lasted shorter because I would also play tug with Bunk using the built in handles. I came home to find that Bunk had discovered how much fun it was to pull out all of the stuffing.
The third I tried was a bit desperate. I wrapped up a soccer ball in an old t-shirt and then duct taped all around it making a silver duct tape ball with a layer of cotton underneath. Then I discovered Bunk loves to eat the adhesive from the duct tape so this was also a no go. So then I took the duct tape off and tried just tying up the ends of the t-shirt and Bunk loved that.
So now I had a soccer ball inside a t-shirt with the ends tied. This worked pretty well except that whenever I played in a wet area the cotton absorbed the water and got all muddy. And my knots would eventually unravel. Then I began looking for something similar, a bag I could throw the ball in that would be cleaner but also be enticing for the dog and still fun to kick. What I found was a tough mesh stuff sack.
***I also recommend you cut off that plastic lock piece and just tie off the cord once you have the bag on. You don't want to risk you dog chewing that lock piece and ingesting little bits of of plastic.
I think for $7.49 the ball in a bag solution is holding up impressively. The mesh allows Bunk's small teeth to easily pick up the ball so he can flaunt and taunt me with it. Yet he does not destroy the soccer skin because he is biting and holding around the bag instead of the ball.
I think this is a good solution for small dogs who like to play with soccer balls. Larger dogs would probably still have the problem of puncturing the soccer ball with their teeth, I would recommend the ChuckIt! Kick Fetch ball for them or something similar.
I actually really like this soft one with tug ropes from PrideBites, but it does not kick as well as the soccer ball in a bag. My other dog Besta likes to join in the fray when we play with the PrideBite ball.
What type of assembly is necessary upon first receipt of my new Junior and are there any special tools required?
Your new pitching machine will arrive fully assembled and ready for your immediate use. No assembly or special tools are required.
What type of balls will the Junior throw?
9 Inch baseballs, regulation full grain leather, pitching machine leather balls, polyurethane pitching machine balls, whiffle balls or foam balls. Do not use synthetic leather balls under any circumstances as they will not only wear rapidly, but will often leave a ball material buildup on the throwing wheels.
(Do not mix ball types). Please see baseball accessories.
How accurate is these Junior?
The Junior has a unique three-wheel design, the ball is gripped in three locations (as opposed to two in other machines), providing tremendous control and accuracy.
What is an acceptable length for an extension cord and what type do I need?
Use a minimum of #14/3 grounded power cord up to 200 ft in length. A longer cord will require the opinion of a licensed electrician.
Why do you not offer a battery-powered pitching machine?
Battery powered units have much longer recovery time between pitches which will slow the pace of practice considerably. These units also slowly diminish in power which can result in constantly changing pitch locations. The need to make sure the unit is always charged and ready to use is an issue. Batteries are also very expensive to replace. As a result of these and many other concerns, we recommend generators; please see the next question.
What type of pitches can the Junior deliver?
Any pitch can be delivered, including, but not limited to fastballs, curve balls, sliders, sinkers, breaking pitches, etc. (Note that all of these can be accomplished by simply changing the speed of the wheels unlike all two-wheel machines that need to tilt the throwing head to deliver a curve ball.)
What adjustments need to be made to change speed and curves on the machine?
Simply adjust the relative speed of each of the throwing wheels. A pitch selection chart is provided on both machines as a reference for setting various pitches. No tilting of the throwing head is ever required for curve balls, sliders, etc.
What adjustment is required to change the elevation of a pitch on the machines?
An elevation adjustment handle is provided that will raise or lower the pitch 4-6 inches (depending on ball speed) for each revolution of the handle. (On other machines it may be necessary to release a locking mechanism, reposition the entire throwing head by tilting it manually and then re-locking the locking mechanism. Given the variability of this method, several test pitches are often required to set the desired pitching height.)
What is the advantage of a three-wheel machine as compared to other designs?
Vision/Timing: The design of the Junior, with three throwing wheels, ensures that the batter never loses sight of the ball. A batter will lose sight of the ball on a 2-wheel machine because of the location of the top throwing wheel. The most common complaint from coaches and hitters of a 2-wheel machine is the fact that the loss of vision affects the batters timing.
What makes the Sports Attack pitching machine wheels higher in quality?
Careful testing of quality components builds a better product. No air pressure considerations with our solid design. We have never replaced a throwing wheel due to wear, weather or melting!
