Hasanyone tried the javasimulation's MCDU hardware. The site seems a bit unprofessional with text like "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet," on there. I'm trying to see if they are a legit company, but I can't find much information about them. They are selling the MCDU for $420 USD which is a lot cheaper than other offerings that I've seen.

I was looking at that too, but I couldn't find many reviews on it. I mainly found several posts talking about how they ordered it, and months later still didn't get it. I also found a couple saying they got it, it was low quality, they returned it on their own shipping dime and never received a refund. Given those and not one single positive review anywhere that wasn't obviously written by the vendor, I'll give it a pass.

In my opinion, this site is a scam. Let's start with the lack (or non-existence) of reviews. The only comments are from people that are waiting on their product. Then, look at the company's landing page. Not only do they spell "welcome" wrong but they can't even get the spelling of their name right. I plugged Javasimulator.com into sites that verify websites and it does come back that they are in Thailand but no other information exists. The trust level is at 14% which basically means don't trust them. If you look at bottom of their website, it gives information about the company but I plugged that into Google Translator and it detects that is in a language called Oromo. I googled this and it is a language from Ethiopia. Most email scams I get are from Africa. So, you decide if this is a scam!!

All these comments are completely false. I ordered the Java simulator MCDU and it just came after only waiting a month which is a short amount of time considering the fact that I live in the U.S.A. and it came from China being handmade. The quality is amazing and I can see how it would be hard to believe that it is so cheap since most things involving flight simulator gear are really expensive for even the most simple things. I can assure you though that it isn't a scam and is well worth the wait and price.

I ordered the mini overhead on April 2nd. Production date was set to the 2nd of May. On the first of May I received a mail that production was delayed until May 12th. Haven't heard yet from them since and they are also not replying on any mail I send. No problem when there is a delay, but please keep communicating!

Not a linux user but a useful tactic in these cases is to google the first line of the error message ("Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Can't load library: /usr/lib/jvm/java-17-openjdk-amd64/lib/libawt_xawt.so"), which provides several hints. One of them is to install the missing library, ie: "sudo apt install openjdk-17-jdk"

I'm wondering if you can help me with a problem i am having with some hardware I recently purchased. So got the Mini overhead panel from javasimulator.com and the software I had to download was FSUIPC7 I'm guessing this is the what the manufacturer (java simulator) used to connect to MSFS, and while everything is functioning in the sim the pushbutton indications are not correct for example on the Axillary power button when the button should light up "AVAIL" it is lilting up ON. i am wandering if i have the paid version on FSUIPC7 would i be able to correct the issues i am having

Sorry but I have no idea - I have not heard of this panel and do not know how it uses FSUIPC7. You need to ask the panel providers, i.e. javasimulator.com.

If the panel software is using FSUIPC to drive the push-button indicators, I would need to know what aircraft you are using and what offsets are being used (by the panel software) to determine the push-button state.

I doubt this - just having the paid version will make no difference, unless the panel software uses some of the registered facilities (e.g. lua), but the panel provider/documentation should say if you need the registered or free version of FSUIPC7, You can also try the full version - there is a trial license available in a post at the top of this forum (i.e. the FSUIPC7 support sub-forum, not the main support sub-forum).

hi i am doing a coin toss simulator for java that must be done a certain way. it must have a string for sideup to hold the string of "heads" or "tails" made by a no arg constructor, the toss method must be void and it must have a getsideup method, then we must run the coin toss 20 times and diplay the number of heads and tails... i can do it easy with none void methods and just returning the result, but getting around this void and getsideup is driving me nuts.this is what i have so far.

The simple fix is put toss in your for loop before the if statement but I see a lot that can be done here. First I would add a constructor for the Coin class and add hcount and tcount to the class variables and make heads and tails constants:

This is an electronic circuit simulator. When the applet starts up you will seean animated schematic of a simple LRC circuit. The greencolor indicates positive voltage. The gray color indicates ground. A red color indicates negative voltage. The moving yellow dots indicate current.

And then I followed as instructed and run the install.sh. Then, the catastrophe started. The install shell started removing pretty much ALL of my packages and software in my PC! I immediately stop the shell and hope to save some but it was already way to late. For comparison, it removed all my ROS installations as well as a few more third party installations on my PC. I have the log file which I goes I cannot attach here but I am very much willing to share with any technical support.

This command would remove EVERYTHING without asking to the user, without giving any warning! It simply accepts everything with -y option if the installation requires sudo apt remove --purge application. I honestly believe that if ANYTHING which needs to be removed or version changed, it should be WARNED.

Workaround: Use my modified script

Script downloaded from link above already has the fix applied, otherwise you will need to modify it, see: Fix bug in ifconfig parsing ljden/URSim_Install_Guides@ae6c220 GitHub

NB: You will need to ensure the net-statistics script has the right network device (see repo for more details)

And then run the modified install.sh script. Looks okay for now but I got the warning The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required: libcurl4:i386 libnghttp2-14:i386 libpsl5:i386 librtmp1:i386 so I suppose a sudo apt autoremove at some point may cause problems with the ROS and other software again. I disregarded the no longer required warning for these specific packages just as a patch solution but probably not the best.

I also faced the same issue. Fortunately, I tried it on a disposable VM image hence the damage was not severe for me. However, what followed after that consumed my two months. Because of this issue, I was made to believe that there is no way to install URSim in Ubuntu 18 or 16. I am mainly working with the UR ROS drivers which are only supported for the higher Ubuntu versions. Hence to use UR ROS drivers with the URSim simulator, I had to use at least one VM, even if I am on a native Ubuntu 18.04.

The issue I faced was related to the latency of the communication between the URSim VM and the ROS drivers. I managed to make them talk with each other but soon after that the ROS driver started complaining about missing data packets. I tried many suggestions to resolve the error but none worked.

Finally, I started looking at the install script for the URSim and figured out that it removes all other installed packages. It is a sincere request to UR developers to give some attention to the simulator workflow too. With more and more third-party partners coming up with applications/products / Softwares, the URSim is the key functionality to make the development cycle efficient.

Is there any aircraft carrier I could download for FSX that does not use JAVA? I am a little hesitant to install JAVA based on some of the information about it effecting other programs. I would like to find an aircraft carrier for FSX that does not use JAVA like FS9 where it was very simple to install an aircraft carrier. I am speaking mainly of AIcarriers that requires JAVA for FSX. Thanks
