Has anyone seen or heard of rabbitmqadmin "list queues" misreporting its numbers?

It reports numbers for one vhost and does not do permissions-aware filtering. Management UI does the filtering and can display global counts.

So the CLI-extracting method is left to the wolves and we all must be UI/UX?

What method does rabbitmq provide to give the equivalent at the command-line?

It simply lacks a way to specify a user for which to list queues. This is something
that predates the management UI and rabbitmqadmin.

There's rabbitmqadmin (ships with the management plugin):
https://www.rabbitmq.com/management-cli.html

which uses the same HTTP API as the management UI.
