Is IModel.BasicAck asynchronous (.net RabbitMQ.Client)

Can not find if IModel.BasicAck is synchronous/blocking, i.e.,  when method returns has broker removed message and guarantees that it won't be resent? Or it returns when transport over TCP socket is done?

In Spring documentation found that it is async https://docs.spring.io/spring-amqp/reference/html/#async-consumer

but wanted to know that is same also for .net client
