I am trying to follow the instructions for installing latest rabbitmq-server and erlang on ubuntu22.04 from https://www.rabbitmq.com/install-debian.html#apt-cloudsmith but am getting the error

when I do  `sudo apt-get update`. I get the same error from ppa2.

Are other people having the same problem? Is this the recommended installation method to get the latest rabbitmq?

Thanks

Tim

The recommended method is right there in the docs, and according to mirror logs, they serve several successful requests a second.

The mirrors do not provide i386 (32-bit) packages, which is what you are trying to install according to the URL printed by apt.

Maybe Launchpad [1] builds i386 packages,
we do not generally pay any attention to 32-bit architectures any more.

Nope, according to the architecture list on Launchpad, it does not build 32-bit packages any more. Not sure if this can be enabled
but running RabbitMQ on 32-bit Erlang builds has been effectively unsupported since at least 2018 (if my memory serves).

You have to move to a x86-64 host to use the mirrors, or one of (x86-64, aarch64) and use Launchpad.

There are no 32-bit options that Team RabbitMQ maintains, and there have not been for many years.

Thanks Michael. I think 64 bit ubuntu still checks 32 bit architectures. I modified /etc/sources.list.d/rabbitmq.list to only look at 64 bit architectures and now it works. For example I added arch=amd64 to the first line so it is now

deb [arch=amd64 signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/rabbitmq.E495BB49CC4BBE5B.gpg] https://ppa1.novemberain.com/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-erlang/deb/ubuntu jammy main
