"AsyncEventingBasicConsumer" seems to only support a single channel per connection

Error is InvalidOperationException - Shoud not be called, IBasicConsumer.HandleBasicConsumeOk.

And this applies to the C# client version 5.0.1

That's a bit too terse. Consider posting your code and the entire stack trace.

Consumer implementations have no control over how many channels there can be on a connection.
I could not find the string "Shoud not be called" in .NET client source code.
