Hello,
I have two RabbitMQ servers in a cluster running version 3.7.11 on Windows Server. If I understand correctly, I cannot perform a Rolling (in‑place) Upgrade to the latest version?
Could you please confirm the actions to take:
Export configuration to .json
Stop the RabbitMQ service on the first server
Upgrade Erlang
Install RabbitMQ
Start the service
Enable the feature flags
Enable the plugins
Import the .json configuration file
Repeat the same operation on the second server

Hi,
It is not impossible to upgrade in-place. You do need a full cluster stop when going from 3.7.x to 3.8.x but after that it can be done in a rolling fashion. That being said it would probably be faster to do a blue-green upgrade: https://www.rabbitmq.com/docs/blue-green-upgrade
