Even though I installed the various dependencies and also installed socat from source , the system is still throwing out an error saying that socat isnt installed

Any specific versions of rabbitmq , socat and erlang required on a RHEL 7.2 server not connected to the internet ?

Hello,

Could you please provide the packages you're installing, where they are from, what commands you are running, and what output you are seeing?

A brief description and small screenshot aren't nearly enough to begin with.

Thanks,
Luke

I did the below order on RHEL 7.4 and it worked well:
sudo rpm -ivh /var/tmp/erlang-20.2.3-1.el6.x86_64.rpm (https://packagecloud.io/rabbitmq/erlang/packages/el/6/erlang-20.2.3-1.el6.x86_64.rpm)
sudo rpm -ivh /var/tmp/epel-release-7-11.noarch.rpm (http://mirror.pnl.gov/epel/7/x86_64/Packages/e/)
sudo rpm -ivh /var/tmp/rabbitmq-server-3.7.3-1.el7.noarch.rpm (https://www.rabbitmq.com/install-rpm.html)

Yeah, no need to compile Erlang from source if you can preinstall
the very minimal set of dependencies our RPM uses.

You have a missing Erlang package, crypto.

Erlang must be built with crypto and ssl module support.

Hello,

Did you see this response to your original message?

Thanks for providing some output that you are seeing. I still would like to know "how you got here" - what packages and how you installed them.

I don't see any messages related to socat as you stated in your first message. In the rabbitmq-plugins output, it looks as though the Erlang you installed does not have the required TLS/SSL support ("missing dependencies").

My advice would be to uninstall everything and follow Ravi's steps.

Thanks,
Luke

We highly recommend not compiling Erlang from source unless you really know what you are doing. There are 3 different RPM packages to choose from, all include crypto and ssl modules assuming a compatible OpenSSL or LibreSSL version is provided by the system.
