Recommended disk space for RabitMQ server

Hi Guys

Is any one know minimum disk space requirement for RabitMQ server?

Disk usage is really tied to your workload.

RabbitMQ needs disk space:
o to store persistent messages queued in durable queues;
o to page out messages when the memory consumption reaches a
configurable threshold [1];
o for the log files.

Thanks Jean for your quick reply

I agree as you said that is depend on work load. As of now we are in the process of identify the workload. Once it is completed I will post you.

In addition to that few more information on our RabitMQ Servers...
  • We have only 2 queue
  • We use Ubuntu VMs
DO you have idea to setup the minimum I/O latency for VMs?

Use an SSD.

Changing I/O scheduler is possible [1] but it requires very thorough benchmarking to see what kind of effect
that may have. It may be much easier (and more cost effective) to simply provision an SSD and more RAM
for file system caches.

RabbitMQ message store primary does sequential writes ("append-only") but benefits from
SSDs nonetheless.
