hostname_not_allowed exception when attempting to enable rabbitmq_management plugin

I have installed RabbitMQ (3.7.14) and Erlang (Win64_21.3) on a new Windows Server 2016 Datacenter server. I used thelatest windows installers for both Erlang and RabbitMQ. RabbitMQ appears to be starting correctly (at least in the windows local service add-in).

When I attempt load the management plug-in, "rabbitmq-plugins enable rabbitmq_management", the following error is displayed:

*** (MatchError) no match of right hand side value: {:error, {:node_name, :hostname_not_allowed}}

I have been able to correct the issue and install the management interface:

Here is what I did:

• ran "rabbitmq-service.bat stop"

• Changed the HOMEDRIVE to C: (was an H drive) - per this thread https://stackoverflow.com/questions/18661791/failed-to-start-rabbitmq-management-plugin-on-windows

• Verified the other environment variables (erlang_home and rabbitmq_home) per - https://www.rabbitmq.com/install-windows-manual.html
  

• ran "rabbitmq-service.bat install"

• ran "rabbitmq-service.bat start"

• rabbitmq-plugins.bat enable rabbitmq_management

• success

I wonder which of those steps affected the node name computed :/
