Hi Team ,

When we release a new version , do we test the compatibility between different version . Like testing a 3.4.2 JAVA API with a 3.4.1 RabbitMQ server ?

I know that we have a bunch of Junit tests in the umbrella repo but I think its using one version for running tests . In our production environment we want to ensure that when we release a new RabbitMQ server version , previous versions of API works fine without any issues and vice versa .

Thanks .

Not sure why you refer to our team as "we" but you can use even 2.x Java and .NET
clients with RabbitMQ 3.x if you don't care for certain protocol extensions. Core
protocol hasn't changed in a while and official clients don't require upgrading in lock step.

If you use something like Spring AMQP, however, the exact client version may matter more,
and YMMV .
