I have a .net 4.5.2 app using Rabbitmq.Client 5.0.1.
I can see the "Microsoft.Diagnostics.Tracing.EventSource.dll" located in the build location directory correctly.
I have AutomaticRecoveryEnabled set to true and NetworkRecoveryInterval set to 10 seconds.

When I kill the connection to the rabbit server, wait longer than NetworkRecoveryInterval I don't see any debug output from the rabbit client.

Is there more manual config that i need to do in order to get the debug output in 5.0.1?

Thanks,
Chris.

Are you sure network recovery interval does what you expect? Are you looking for the heartbeat timeout [1] instead?

According to our team member who maintains the client [more than others], connection recovery is the only
place where the client logs. We don't really have debug logging otherwise.

If you are looking to see whether connection recovery kicks off, it's quite trivial to do from the server logs [3]
(after the network recovery interval passes).

Thanks Michael,

Yes, i'm definitely looking to see logs for the network recovery event that logs.  Before we upgraded to the 5.1 client (we were on an older 3.x version i think) we saw it log when the connection was dropped and would log every X seconds.

We can see it happening on the server logs, but we are also trying to log at the client end to keep records what happened and to keep a record of it trying to reconnect etc...

Any guidance on getting log output in 5.1 would be great if anyone else has seen this happening.

Thanks,
CJ

We will investigate, most likely next week (sorry).
