Hello,

I'm currently looking at the resource requirements for quorum queues and wondering if there is a know rason why the default size for the WAL file is set to 512MiB. Compare to the minimum requirement at production checklist
it rose quite a bit. Of course there are performance reasons, but would a smaller size like 256 MiB impact the quorum queue functionality?

Kind regards,

Hi Monika,

512Mb was chosen as a trade-off between speed and space. You can change this using the raft.wal_max_size_bytes configuration [1] - setting it to 256Mb should be perfectly fine.
