Hi!
I have a very basic question.

I would like to test RabbitMQ STOMP through telnet or netcat on windows.
I have downloaded the netcat windows client, and tried
nc localhost 61613
CONNECT

^@

I can't send the message to the server. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Thanks
Balázs

^@ is Control + @, is it what you are using? I also used a new line after the CONNECT
line in the example below:

nc 127.0.0.1 61613
CONNECT

^@
CONNECTED
session:session-K66egkG8w5nOKeP0TqBYdA
heart-beat:0,0
server:RabbitMQ/3.6.0
version:1.0

I'm not familiar with that layout but it's the null character, see
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Fuse_Message_Broker/5.4/html/Connectivity_Guide/files/BHIJBDJH.html for example.

Have you considered using a STOMP client from a REPL, e.g. Ruby or Python shells?

Fuse docs have an example telnet session, it should work just fine for RabbitMQ
(except that destinations can be vendor-specific, see RabbitMQ STOMP docs):
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Fuse_Message_Broker/5.4/html/Connectivity_Guide/files/BHIJBDJH.html

HTH.
