Access_refused for non guest rabbitmq user with full permission

Unable to connect to remote rabbitmq with a user which has full permissions. Getting 

Access_refused Login was refused using authentication mechanism PLAIN  Error.

Any help and suggestions on this?

Please detail rabbitMQ and erlang versions installed and the logfile 

Also what queue , vhost user is trying to access and then the users permissions
