Hi,

We are trying to setup RabbitMQ Server 2.4.1 on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server11 (64-bit).
We have a question and an issue.

1. Anybody tested RabbitMQ Server 2.4.1 on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server11 (64-bit)?
We saw the following message in rabbitmq server link (http://www.rabbitmq.com/server.html)
"The openSUSE RPM files are intended for Novell's openSUSE Linux and derived distributions (SLES and SLERT). We haven't tested these under recent releases, but expect that they work."

2. We observed that erlang is dependent on libcrypto.so.6. We could not find suitable rpm to install libcrypto.so.6 for 64-bit system.
When we install latest SSL libraries (libopenssl1_0_0-1.0.0-5.4 and libopenssl-devel-1.0.0-6.7.1), we could see libcrypto.so.1.
Kindly help us to resolve the issue.

Here is the log:

# rpm -i rabbitmq-server-2.4.1-1.suse.noarch.rpm

Thanks in advance.

It looks like you are trying to install an erlang package from RHEL/EPEL
on SLES. That's probably not going to work - while both distros use
RPM, there are many differences between them.

So you should install an erlang package specifically for SLES. See the
erlang project at opensuse.org:
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=devel%3Alanguages%3Aerlang

It worked david. Thank you.
Did anybody tested RabbitMQ Server 2.4.1 on SLES?

We don't currently test on SLES as part of our normal pre-release
testing.

But people do download our RPM packages for SuSE (including the 2.4.1
one), and we haven't had any problems reported, so presumably they do
work.

Indeed, the combination of a 2.4.1 RabbitMQ broker, running on
SLES-11, is regularly used by a couple of teams within VMware.

Although the testing of it isn't focused on exercising Rabbit per se,
it is in regular enough use to support confidence in the
configuration.

Best regards,
Jerry
