terminate amqp_consume_message

Hi,
what is the best way to terminate amqp_consume_message? I want to
implement a graceful shutdown for my service. Currently it might occur,
that the receiving thread is blocked when consuming a message.
Although the main thread calls amqp_queue_unbind, amqp_connecton_close,
amqp_destroy_connection amqp_consume_message does not return.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance
