Hi guys,

I'm finally having some free time now, and going back to my R2C2_WebInterface...

I'm starting to pick up on Jorge's idea of converting the STL model into GCODE, I would like to run this process on my LinuxEmbedded board but don't know if there is a command line tool to do this on a Linux Embedded ARM board.

I found this tool a few months ago but still haven't had the time to test it, Slicer, does anyone recommend it or is there any other tool that I could use to convert the objects? (preference a command line tool without a GUI)

Regards,
Nelson.

Nelson, Slic3r seems to be (an actual) popular choice for slicing on
RepRap world!!

Thanks Jorge for your feedback,

I will investigate this tool and check if it will run on a Linux Embedded ARM environment!

Dear Nelson I am new here and have to convert a slt file to its corresponding gcode version for CNC in windows environment. I have the flexibility to use MATLAB or C/C++. But I do not know the procedure to convert it. Do u have any reference? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Amit,

I'm currently more dedicated to 3d printing itself then my initial CNC project, I have some friends that are using http://heeks.net/ to convert cad files to gcode, there are plenty of youtube videos, I just had a quick run a few months ago but that was it!

There are some other very expensive tools such as http://www.machsupport.com/, but maybe heeks should be enough to start with ;)
