Setup Z offset in software

Hello.
For our 3D Printers we need to setup the initial bed distance to
extruder (Z offset) on software. We plan to do like PP3DP and Cubify
3D printers do - user clicks on some buttons (software or hardware
buttons) to adjust the extruder nozzle offset from the bed - on RepRap
Wallace that we have, we need to adjust a screw and is more difficult.
We plan to use a MCode for update config.home_pos_z and finally write
it to uSDcard (write all the config.txt file).
