Any hints to getting this working would be very appreciated
Hello,
I am building a bot that has dual y axis steppers. I do not necessarily need the extruder driver E, could I set it up through firmware to have the E be a slave to the y driver? Of course, this additional y stepper would need to go in the reverse direction to the original y stepper as they are mirrored.
Hello Francisco,
Thank you for the response. I was thinking of doing them in series, but is it not better to connect them to two different drivers?
I have two motors on y, one motor on x, and one motor on z.
As you mention, we could run two motors off of the y driver in series. Another option I was thinking is to use the E driver (I do not need to extrude with this and for my application will be left empty). So my question was if it was possible to set up the E driver to be a slave of the Y driver?
Best,
Luis

Can you explain better? If this 2 motors work together, you can connect them in series. The stepper motor have 2 coils(A and B). Connect in series de coil A from one motor with coil B of other. This way the steppers will move synchronized in opposite direction.Francisco MendesbitBOX team
