Hello,
 I am having another problem. After changing some parameters (including "E"), the model ran! However, now I am trying to compare different models. I have given the models different names. I get the following error:

*** ERROR ***   fail to create directory [C:/DOCUME~1/christym/LOCALS~1/Temp/Rtmpk0n5TI/file338c59dc/results.files/fixed.effect]: File exists

result1=inla(formula,family="nbinomial",data=habitat3,E=3,control.inla=list(h=0.01),verbose=FALSE,control.predictor=list(compute=T))   # this works

result3=inla(formula3,family="nbinomial",data=habitat3,E=3,control.inla=list(h=0.01),verbose=FALSE,control.predictor=list(compute=T))     # this gives error

Is this a problem with how the temporary files are being stored?

Thanks again for any suggestions!

Christy

Hello again. After updating to 12.13, I still get the error message:

*** ERROR ***   fail to create directory [C:/DOCUME~1/christym/LOCALS~1/Temp/RtmpT5SHUC/file47ed42db/results.files/fixed.effect]: File exists

I tried to look for this file and delete it manually, but there is no such file.

Thanks again for any suggestions.

I just wanted to report back. The error is not happening now. It seemed to occur when I tried "rw2" for a model or when I logtransformed a variable and a predictor has an "inf" for one of the values. So I think the error has nothing to do with this directory , but was occurring for some other reason.If I do not use "rw2" and transform to have no "infs", the model works.

Thanks, I was just looking into it and it seems that all was fine
here...

yes, 'inf' might be to much... let me know if the problem reappear ;-)
