Hello,

I am trying to run INLA on Posit Cloud, and getting the following kind of errors (repeated any tmes

inla.mkl: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.38' not found (required by /cloud/lib/renv/cache/v5/linux-ubuntu-focal/R-4.4/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/INLA/25.06.07/387453fb505cb274e698329f95abd399/INLA/bin/linux/64bit/libcap.so.2)

Do you have any advice on how to get INLA working on Posit Cloud?
Best wishes,
Robbie

I should clarify that I'm not able to install any versions of GLIBC on Posit Cloud so have to use 2.31 as per the below output when I input 'ldd --version' in the terminal on Posit Cloud.

ldd (Ubuntu GLIBC 2.31-0ubuntu9.15) 2.31

Which one should I choose for Ubuntu 20.04? 4 and 5 are closest but they do not match.

Available alternatives: Alternative 1 is ./Fedora Linux-42 (Workstation Edition)/Version_25.06.07/64bit.tgz Alternative 2 is ./Rocky Linux-8.10 (Green Obsidian)/Version_25.06.07/64bit.tgz Alternative 3 is ./Rocky Linux-9.5 (Blue Onyx)/Version_25.06.07/64bit.tgz Alternative 4 is ./Ubuntu-22.04.5 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish)/Version_25.06.07/64bit.tgz Alternative 5 is ./Ubuntu-24.10 (Oracular Oriole)/Version_25.06.07/64bit.tgz

please upgrade to testing version

inla.upgrade(testing=TRUE)

restart R

library(INLA)
inla.binary.install()

choose CentOS7

let me know if that does not work

best

CentOS7 builds are added to the most recent stable and testing version (which is
reported to work well for Posit Cloud)
