Hi.

I have a workstation HP Z 620 and a laptop dell precision 3581, both with :
Ubuntu 22.04
R 4.5.1
INLA_24.12.11

The ubuntu versions are customized by my institute and are not the same for desktop and laptop. Everything is fine with the laptop : it models hundreds of time series like a charm. But when I try to do the same thing with my desktop, the /tmp directory fills up (Rtmp in fact) and on my last attempt, I had over 98 GB in /tmp (115 GB of hard disk).

I don't have any reproducible code and my question is: has anyone ever encountered this kind of problem?

For now, I'm tempted to install a Debian instead of this custom ubuntu.

Thanks in advance
Sincerely
DS

Haven’t seen this before.  After u quit R session you can safely cleanup Rtmp at /tmp

You can install the most recent inla version using

inla.update(testing=T)

And then install Ubuntu22 binaries with

inla.binary.install()

And chose the 22 one

Thank you very much for your reply, it works!

I restarted the workstation, installed the binary version of the current INLA (I want to have the same version on both computers). As it is, it ain't broken, so I won't fix it any further.
Thank you again.
Regards
DS
