Description
For R users that are just starting with R or that have been using it for years.
Goal: to have a space to ask and answer R questions. No R preference dominates this space. Questions can be about base R, Tidyverse, data.table or anything in the wide R ecosystem.
Code of conduct: No bullying, hate, or rude acts of any kind. What is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow.
Community over Code: A strong, diverse community matters more than the software itself, because a healthy group can always improve bad code.
Earned Authority (Meritocracy): Influence and decision-making power are earned through active, public contributions.
Community of Peers: All individual contributors have equal weight in discussions, and hierarchical corporate structures do not apply here.
Openness and Transparency: Technical discussions happen in public view on this mailing list so everyone can participate conditional on the code of conduct.
Neutrality: Discussion about problem-solving, need for a new package or others are independent of any single vendor or corporate sponsor, protecting the long-term public good.
