Cable constraint for minimization of vibration/motion noise

When the sensors are not rigidly held, for example on a MEG cap, we find that cable movement can lead to considerable noise pick up. The situation can be easily remedied by using scotch tape to strain relive the sensor as shown in the image below. We will fix this issue in the future generation of the sensors but for now we strongly recommend something like this to strain relive the two-foot flex cable at the sensor end.

Could you please advice on how to minimize vibration/motion noise caused by Gen 1.0 cables as well?

We have not seen this vibration/motion noise with the Gen1.0 cables to the same extent as with Gen2.0 cables. We recommend making sure there is good strain relief of the cables, especially at the sensor end so that there is as little motion of the cable as possible. The vibrational/motion noise is more significant for Gen2.0 sensors due to the section of ribbon cable and will be fixed in future sensor revisions.
