Currently this error message is sometimes displayed and followed by "rebooted needed". This means that the parameters have somehow reset and need to be reassigned. We are working on fixing this problem but for now if you do get this error please send an email to j...@quspin.com with the serial number of the sensor(s) and we will send the parameters back as quickly as possible.

To reassign the parameters you can use either the Firmware Updater program or the QZFM Command UI
The Firmware Updater program will allow you to select the COMM port of the sensor and then assign the parameters via the Load 3 button. If you need to find out which COMM port the sensor is connected to you can download and run the Find COMM Port vi.

Be sure stop the program by pressing STOP before switching COMM ports, then press the gray run arrow in the stop left of the window.
Once you have the .txt with the sensor parameters, open it and write the ~ values one at a time (for example ~hfr400000) to the Command (~) field followed by pressing the Load 3 button and observe a readout under the STOP button (by default it is $hfr400000).
Note: When using either vi, do not use values that are different from what is written in the .txt for that sensor unless otherwise instructed by someone at QuSpin.

If using the QZFM Command UI, run the program and check that the connected sensors are displayed in the Sensors tab. Click directly on the serial number of the sensor you want to assign parameters to (for example Z2.0-0001) and go to the Firmware tab. Check that the correct serial number is displayed in the "Selected Sensor" field. Select the .txt with the parameters by clicking on the folder button under the "Sensor Parameter .txt" field, then press the "Set Parameters" button and observe that the fields under the "~Load" button are updated. Press the "~Load" button and wait for the sensor to automatically reboot ("Ready" will be displayed in the "Sensor Status" field of that sensor in the Sensors tab). You can press the "~Read" button to readout the assigned parameters.

We have a laser problem with some of our Gen1.0 sensors, since we see 'Retrying laser lock' error in the status bar. After many attempts (around 8) of locking the laser the status changes to 'Laser not Locked'. How can we fix it? The reboot procedure (even executed several times) does not help.
