Compensation internal coils or software compensation

Dear all,

I am using a QZFM Gen-2.0. Reading Gen 2.0 FAQS, it indicats that it has internal compensation coils which are adjusted with "Field zero" button: https://quspin.com/products-qzfm-gen2-arxiv/qzfm-faq/

Is this correct? Might this internal coils not be present for previous generations? Might it be that users of previous Gens had to deal by their own previously, like in: https://www.nature.com/articles/srep24773

Could it be possible to know the internal compensation coils arrangments for Gen2? Is there a schematic showing some details on this?
