Random printer kicking out in portrait vs. landscape

Has anyone else had a randon printer decide to change the label orientation and have any advice on how to fix it? 

Printer: Zebra GC420d

OS: Windows 8.1 

Latest version of Firefox. 

When we test sending the exact same code to the Zebra ZD420 it works as expected. It seems to be only happening with the GC420d.

Have you recently calibrated the printer?  If in Windows using the official Zebra driver, the Printer, Printer Properties, there's often a "Calibrate" button.  This can help sometimes if the printer is unsure about the size (and thus orientation) of the paper.

Another potential issue is the printer name says "EPL", which suggests you may have the wrong driver installed.  The logs suggest you are preparing and sending "ZPL", and for Zebra, this is often a different driver.
