Hi QZ,

We've been using QZ Tray for years now and it's been helpful in our business. Since technology is evolving, we're planning on upgrading our EPSON POS Printer (dot matrix) into a network connected device, which means converting our current USB printer into a LAN connected printer. When I tried browsing your website it stated that QZ only supports serial/USB printer, please confirm if that is the case until today.

We're also planning on extending the printer's capability and planning on printing printing using an Android Tablet (Samsung) for portability since we use it in our bar of our resort. Can you confirm if QZ is now compatible with Android devices either tablet or mobile device?

Thank you.

Louise:

Network-connected printers are supported by QZ-Tray, and always have been. Please show us on our website where it is indicated otherwise, and I will gladly update it.

You can test to see if QZ-Tray sees your local network printers at https://demo.qz.io

Regarding Android compatibility, QZ-Tray cannot be natively installed on Android or iOS (they do not allow Java), but they can work in a print-server deployment, where a local PC handles the print queues:

The "serial/usb" is for raw communications.

The printing types are listed lower on the page, IP is listed.

Hi QZ,

Thank you for the prompt response. Apologies as I misunderstood the Docs on your website, as I've seen it in this link: https://qz.io/docs/getting-started

I will take a look on the Print Server service of the QZ Tray and study it.

Yeah maybe the wording can be improved... That's in regards to direct communication (e.g. not printing).
