QZ Tray and JAVA

Does QZ Tray 1.9 require JAVA?

initially it was not asking for JAVA but now it is any thoughts? thank you

• QZ Tray 1.9 requires Java, yes.
  
• QZ Tray 1.9 may prompt to download and install Java if using the old <applet> method per https://github.com/qzind/qz-print/blob/1.9/sample.html#L31.
  
• <applet> is no longer supported in Firefox.  See here: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/software/mozilla-to-drop-support-for-all-npapi-plugins-in-firefox-52-except-flash/
