Hello everyone,

im experiencing an issue with Bling and QZ Tray. The files are generated correctly in Bling (ERP) and sent to QZ Tray, but they do not print. It seems that the document is sent but not properly received by QZ Tray.

I reached out to Blings support team, and they informed me that the issue is related to QZ Tray, advising me to seek support here.

Btw, printing works perfectly with other applications, so im not sure what might be causing the problem. Could someone assist me with this? Would it help if I tried unlinking QZ Tray from Bling? Or should I send you my log files for review?

I appreciate your support.

Best regards, Matheus

(Well, i just sent my log and some pics about it as asked before by Lite Finocchiaro)

Matheus:

Thanks for creating a new thread.

I reached out to Blings support team, and they informed me that the issue is related to QZ Tray, advising me to seek support here.

I will remind you that this is not allowed. Bling must not send you to QZ-Support unless they are directly contacting us after having exhausted all other options. We do not offer direct end-user support, period.

Please continue to escalate your issue with Bling, and do not let them send you to us. We are not a catch-all for their laziness with regards to support.

Btw, printing works perfectly with other applications

What other applications? What printer? What operating system?

You can send logs off-list to sup...@qz.io and we will have a look, but this is offered as a courtesy so that you understand that it is Bling's website and support that is causing this problem, not our software.

From the QZ Tray Icon:
Advanced, Troubleshooting, Zip Logs (To Desktop)

You may also test the proper function of QZ-Tray by visiting https://demo.qz.io , searching for your printer, and testing a print job using the multiple languages available on the raw tab, or by printing a pdf, html, or image print job on the pixel tab.

Yeahh ive been in contact with them since friday morning, and we've tried several things, such as unlinking the QZ Tray and other troubleshooting steps. However, I'm still experiencing issues.

I bought this thermal printer to help speed up my workflow, but so far, we're still having significant printing problems.

Other applications work fine: for example, printing a regular PDF file or even printing directly from blings system. Additionally, when i download the file (thermal_zpl_shipping_label.txt), i can print it without any issues.

The operating system is Windows 10, and the printer model is MDK 007 TOMATE.

Ive just sent you the logs to the provided email. Please i hope that u guys can help me out!

Thanks for the logs. QZ-Tray is functioning as expected.

Since the print data is being sent and the printer is not printing anything, you should check to make sure that you don't have two print queues with the same name.

Please go to https://demo.qz.io and clicking "Find All Printers." This should tell you if there are multiple print queues with the same name. Delete the unwanted queues and Reload QZ-Tray.

Cheers,

Lite

I would expect the raw tab to work using zpl_sample.txt. Can you try that and tell me if it works?

Can you send the file (thermal_zpl_shipping_label.txt) to sup...@qz.io so we can compare it to the data from the logs?

Matheum,

The logs from Bling indicate a ZPL file is being sent.  Does your printer support ZPL?

I looked up the manual for the MDK-007 and could not determine if this supports ZPL.

If the printer does not support ZPL, Bling will need to help you print using another format (such as PDF).

Best of regards,

-Tres

Well, after checking, it seems that the printer probably does not support ZPL or that raw file format.
Im just going to return it to the seller and buy a Zebra or ELGIN printer instead. From what i can see, those two are the best on the market.
We were trying to look for some cheap good ones that work for us here (so I bought the Tomate MDK 007), but as we can see, it probably doesnt support ZPL.
When the new one arrive here ill let u guys know if everything is working fine!
Just wanna thank you all!

Matheus:

You had mentioned in a previous reply that you were able to print another file after downloading it, and I asked for a copy of that file.

Additionally, when i download the file (thermal_zpl_shipping_label.txt), i can print it without any issues.

If this file contains ZPL commands and your printer can print it, then there is a different problem.

I'm still happy to have a look at that file and compare it to the print data from the logs, which we have already verified is ZPL.

You can send it off-list to sup...@qz.io

Lite,

Just an FYI, the label I got from Bling was one gigantic ZPL graphic, so if the printer does support ZPL, it could certainly be the way that Bling is preparing the graphic command.

Sadly, the MDK-007 doesn't list ZPL emulation in their product guide (of it they do, I could not find it), so I believe getting a printer with proper ZPL support is definitely the path forward.

Matheus,

With regards to "cheap" printers that support ZPL, we've had success with the bargain bands, but in the case of ZPL printers, we generally believe that the more expensive printers are simply built better and are designed for industrial usage, so we'll always favor Zebra for ZPL, Epson for ESC/POS, etc because they provide durability and the best baseline for compatibility.  Many of our EPL and ZPL printers are 10 or 20 years old and they work just as good as the day they were purchased.

We do like to learn about the cheaper brands though.  In some cases, we'll buy the same hardware for testing compatibility (or in some cases reach out directly to the cheaper manufacturer for support).  Had Bing reached out (like they're supposed to do), we'd have considered this, but ultimately, buying better hardware may be the quickest path to a usable product.

Good morning,

I am reaching out to report an issue with my Zebra ZD220 printer. My system, Bling, correctly sends the information to the printer, but it is unable to receive this data from QZ Tray, resulting in a printing error.

Currently, the only way to print is by manually retrieving the files generated by Bling and sending them directly to the printer. I would like to know if you can help me resolve this issue.

I can send a log for analysis if needed. Looking forward to your response.

Best regards Matheus

Additionally, i am able to print using QZ Tray if I open and close the program a few times and attempt multiple times. This way, the labels print successfully.

Matheus:

Bling should be always your first line of support for all printing issues with their website.

Hundreds of thousands of users are using QZ-Tray with other websites and have no problems, but we receive support inquiries from Bling users on a regular basis...

I can send a log for analysis if needed.

We're happy to review logs (you can send them off-list to sup...@qz.io if they contain sensitive information), but it is Bling's responsibility to support its users, and if their print data is corrupt, they need to fix it.

Bling, correctly sends the information to the printer, but it is unable to receive this data from QZ Tray, resulting in a printing error.

What is the error?

Can you make sure you don't have two printers installed with the same name?

It is common if you install a printer driver twice or change the USB port, which can result in multiple print queues. QZ-Tray will generally choose the first one in the alphanumeric list if searching by name.

Additionally, i am able to print using QZ Tray if I open and close the program a few times and attempt multiple times. This way, the labels print successfully.

This should not be necessary. Please visit https://demo.qz.io to make sure the ZPL samples work. This should tell you if QZ-Tray is working properly and give you some information to escalate with Bling support.

Kind regards,
