QSMobile Android App Beta

We are pleased to announce the release of our QSMobile Android Application (beta) for Android 3.0+. With this native app, Android phones can scan for servers running our Qwikswitch USB Server software, and access them, without the user needing to use the web browser of the phone.

The result is a faster and smoother experience, with quick access to dimmer and relay controls. Devices can be grouped (saved to the Android device), making it easier to get to the devices that are most important.

Please proceed to the QSMobile Download Page, and try out our app. Your device will need to be running at least Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). Since the app is not yet in the Play store, you will need to enable "Unknown Sources" option in your device settings.

We welcome and encourage feedback, so please let us know what you think. We will try to address any bugs as soon as possible.

Hi guys,

This is great news. I was hoping to get round to develop my own but ths saves me heaps of time. I've just installed it and have come up with my first request.

Could you please allow us to add servers based on domain names rather than IP addresses? I currently have my router linked to dyndns so that I can access my QS remotely but unfortunately the "Add" server functionality on the Android App only allows IP addresses.

Thanks,
Pedro

Good day Pedro,

Thanks very much for trying out our new Android app!

Regarding your request, what I am thinking about doing is simply changing the input field to allow you to enter non-numeric digits. I still want it to default to the numeric keypad though, as most users will not need to put in a domain name. Is this to your liking?

Thanks again,
Luke

Hi Luke,

Thanks for the response. That would definitely help.

What is your roadmap looking like for introducing all the other functionality i.e. scenes, groups etc.?

Good day Pedro

I'm going to be adding more to it over the next few months, and I will make a post each time I release a new version.

Scenes will be added in the next major build, as well as the ability to add a device remotely to the server.

Regarding grouping, this functionally already exists. Please refer to QSMobile Beta Guide, pages 4 - 6 on add devices to groups.

I will make a post as soon as I am done testing the change I made for you regarding Domain names.

Have a good day.

Good Day

I have been installing modules in my house and controlling it from the android app. So far it has been working great, except for one type of module, the QS-R-S30. The android app does not register the state of the device and means that it cannot control the unit.

I have used the QAUSB documentation is saw that the information received the web service is not the same as the other devices response. the response received is {"id":"@08e020","cmd":"STATUS.ACK","data":"30158000000000","rssi":"61%"}. the data is always 30158000000000, no matter what the actual state is.

Is there anything I can do to make this work?

hi
has there been any update on the control of the QS-R-S30 (think this is the relay I have on my pool pump)
there is also an issue on the normal website - the relay is now showing as being red and im unable to switch it via the site...

Thanks

Good day Ashley,

Thank you for posting to the Qwik-Switch Forum.

I have pushed an update to the QSUSB software (Download at http://qwikswitch.co.za/usb.php).

I found a previously unknown issue with how the switching and reading of the 30A relays were being handled. With this update, those issues should be solved.

Thanks very much for alerting us to the problems, and have a good weekend,

Luke

so I found a work around, with the skill not being available. You can develop your own personal skill, which I have using the api from qwikswitch.

See attached how to, with template code, if you use gpt5 model, and provide it with the detail, it will do most of the work for you.

Let me know

thanks
Kesh
