If I want to add the qwikswitch component to hass.io (not hassbian) on my Raspberry Pi, do I have to install a driver for the qwikswitch usb modem?

Hello,

I struggled to get the qwikswitch API to work with hass.io - mainly because you need to "install" the application and modem drivers, make them executable and run upon startup - something I was not able to do due to: 1. inexperience with linux systems and 2. as hass.io is basically a closed instance running a highly customised port of linux.

I found that although requiring a bit more input compared to hass.io, hassbian is still the best way to get qwikswitch integrated into your instance of HA.

If you manage to get it working, please let us know how you did it... ;-)

Good day,

I had the same issue with HASS.io.
Friends have created a repo you can add to HASSio.
