Hi, just wandering if any one has had issues with their qwikswitch 5a relays, I have had an accredited installer install my qwikswitch devices in August 2017, and in the last 6 months 3 devices went defective now i have an issue with 3 more devices, which I will have to change?

any one else has this issue?

Hi Keshav,

Thank you for your post.We always like hearing back from our clients.

Could you please let us know what is the load that you are switching? ( LED lamps or incandescent lights)

Over the three years in South Africa we have had a lot of Eskom power cuts and surges. This could effect the electronic in the receiver. The main component effected is the capacitor.

Please note that the QS-R-S5 relay is for resistive loads. If you are using LED loads that is a inductive load, this will over sometime have issue on switching.

The correct product to use with LED loads is the QS-R-DOPTO. This is a 2 in 1 receiver that can switch on/off and dim both LED and incandescent lamps.

If you would like your old QS-R-S5 relays to be repaired. Please courier them to us and we can inspect & quote you.

Thank you,  it is the QR s- 5 and it was installed by one of your recommended installers, they are running led down lights.

I have surge protectors at my switch board.

you did repair 2 of the 3 already changed.

Will get back to you about repairs.

thanks

I have a 4 swich remote unit, which has been giving me trouble, and despite changing the battery, still not working. The remote receivers are in the ceiling. Please advise me if these 4 units also operate on batteries or do they operate off the 220V power supplied to them to operate the lights. I was also having problems with one circuit switching on and off. The higher the load, the faster it would switch off. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

Good day Joe

Our receivers operate with a 220Vac supply. If you've changed the battery on the 4 button transmitter and it's flashing it's LED when a button is pressed, then the transmitter is most likely operating fine and the issue is on the receiver side. You can test this by pressing the test/link button (once quickly) on the side of the receiver. This will toggle/switch the load on/off. If the issue is still present then you can eliminate the transmitter as the fault and focus on the receiver.

The issues you are experiencing could be due to a number of things. My suggestion would be to send the units to us for inspection. Once we have inspected them we can repair them if in a repairable state.

Regards
Ashley

Hi

Wanted to know if there has been any issues with geyser switches coming on and off, even if the set point is lower then the existing temp and it is not during the time table set?

Thank you

Thanks

Hi Keshav

I had a look into this now with our office geyser controller but all looks good with regards to the geyser turning on/off.
Please note that if the set point is lower then the current/existing temp then the controller wont turn on as the temp would be higher then the set point.

Would it be possible to send me a screenshot of the graph and schedules of a scenario where the geyser didnt turn on/off when it should have?
From this I should be able to give you a better reason as to why it may not be switching when it should.

Kind Regards
Ashley

      Hi

I wonder if there can be any assistance, I have an issue with my Qwikswitch skill on Alexa, I was not seeing my devices on Alexa, so I disable the skill on Alexa to enable it again to reset devices on Alexa. I was not able to reset again as it was not available anymore.

Is there any other Alexa skill available for Qwikswitch to work?

Thanks

so I found a work around, with the skill not being available. You can develop your own personal skill, which I have using the api from qwikswitch.

See attached how to, with template code, if you use gpt5 model, and provide it with the detail, it will do most of the work for you.

Let me know

thanks
Kesh
