I wanted to know if there is any other way to change the rgb colors of the switch art rgb unit, other than physically on the switch, also can you turn the led of?

There most definitely is, you can change the LED colours on the RGB switchart via the Android mobile application but you will need either the Qwikswitch Cloud Hub or the WiFi Bridge (QS-WIFI-BRIDGE).
