English Translation of Al-Quran
[57] Surah Al-Hadid [The Iron]
Ayat 23. In order that you may not be sad over matters that you fail to get, nor rejoice because of that which has been given to you. And Allah likes not prideful boasters.
Tafseer of Surah Al-Hadid Ayat 23. In order that ye may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor exult over favours bestowed upon you. For Allah loveth not any vainglorious booster, In the external world, what people may consider misfortune or good fortune may both turn out to be illusory-in Kipling's words, "both imposters just the same". The righteous man does not grumble if someone else has possessions, nor exult if he has them. He does not covet and he does not boast. If he has any advantages, he shares them with other people, as he considers them not due to his own merits, but as gifts from Allah.

English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Harithah bin Wahb (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) saying, "Shall I not inform you about the people of Jannah? It is every person who is, modest and humble (before Allah), a person who is accounted weak and is looked down upon but if he adjures Allah, Allah will certainly give him what he desires. Now shall I not inform you about the inmates of Hell? It is every violent, impertinent and proud man".
[Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 60, Hadith # 440]. & [Muslim Book 06, Chapter 36, Hadith # 2614].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Hadid Ayat 23.” And Allah likes not prideful boasters" This Hadith tells us about distinction of such weak, poor and secluded persons who do not have any important position in society but are so eminent in the realm of piety that, out of their utmost trust in Allah, if they take an oath for something, Almighty Allah fulfills their oath. Thus, this Hadith highlights the importance of modesty and condemns pride, miserliness and lust for name and fame.
