English Translation of Al-Quran

[14].Surah Ibrahim {A.S}

Ayat 9. Has not the news reached you, of those before you, the people of Nuh (Noah), and 'Ad, and Thamud? And those after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came their Messengers with clear proofs, but they put their hands in their mouths (biting them from anger) and said: "Verily, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent, and we are really in grave doubt as to that to which you invite us (i.e. Islamic Monotheism)."

Tafseer Surah Ibrahim [A.S] Ayat 09. Has not the story reached you, (O people!), of those who (went) before you? - of the people of Noah, and ´Ad, and Thamud? - And of those who (came) after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came messengers with Clear (Signs); but they put their hands up to their mouths, and said: "We do deny (the mission) on which ye have been sent, and we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which ye invite us." Even the names of all the Prophets are not known to men, much less the details of their story. If some "news" of them (for the word translated "story" may also be translated "news") reaches us, it is to give us spiritual instruction for our own lives. That is, either that the unbelievers metaphorically put their hands up to the mouths of the Prophets to try to prevent them from proclaiming their Message, or that the unbelievers, put up their fingers to their own mouths, as much as to say "Don't listen to them," or bit their own fingers in token of incontinent rage. Whatever construction we adopt, the meaning is that they were intolerant of their prophets even as Quraysh were intolerant of Al Mustafa and did all they could to suppress Allah's Truth. Cf. 11:62. The distinction between Shakk and Rayb may be noted. Shakk is intellectual doubt, a doubt as to fact: is it so, or is it not? Rayb is something more than intellectual doubt; a suspicion that there is fraud or deception; something that upsets your moral belief, and causes a disquiet in your soul- In 52:30, it is used as equivalent to "calamity" or "disaster", some punishment or evil. Both kinds of doubts and suspicions are hinted at against Prophets of Allah (see also 34:54).

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Masud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: After the battle of Hunain, Messenger of Allah cid:284B5C80E60C496D84A686C19B57BE3B@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) favored some people in the distribution of spoils (for consolation). He gave Al-Aqra bin Habis and Uyainah bin Hisn a hundred camels each and showed favour also to some more honorable persons among the Arabs. Someone said: "This division is not based on justice and it was not intended to win the Pleasure of Allah.'' I said to myself: "By Allah! I will inform Messenger of Allah cid:284B5C80E60C496D84A686C19B57BE3B@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) of this.'' I went to him and informed him. His face became red and he said, "Who will do justice if Allah and His Messenger do not?'' Then he said, "May Allah have mercy on (Prophet) Musa (Moses)[A.S]; he was caused more distress than this but he remained patient.'' Having heard this I said to myself: "I shall never convey anything of this kind to him in future".

[Al-Bukhari Book 04, Chapter 53, Hadith # 378].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ibrahim {A.S} Ayat 09. "Has not the news reached you, of those before you," This Hadith leads to the conclusion that the leader of the people or the Calipha has a right, if situation demands, to give to the new Muslims and other influential and respectable people of the society more than others for their satisfaction and encouragement. The man who raised objection on the distribution of booty by the Prophet cid:284B5C80E60C496D84A686C19B57BE3B@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) was a hypocrite. Devout Muslims could never think that the Prophet cid:284B5C80E60C496D84A686C19B57BE3B@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) could be unjust to anyone. This incident also goes to prove that the Prophet cid:284B5C80E60C496D84A686C19B57BE3B@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) also felt as much as others did, the things which infuriated or pleased others, because he was a man and not a superhuman being.
