[67] Surah Al-Mulk [The Dominion]
Ayat 21. Who is he that can provide for you if He should withhold His provision? Nay, but they continue to be in pride, and (they) flee (from the truth).
Tafseer of Surah 67. Al Mulk (The Dominion) Ayat 21. Or who is there that can provide you with Sustenance if He were to withhold His provision? Nay, they obstinately persist in insolent impiety and flight (from the Truth). "Sustenance" here, as elsewhere, (e.g., in 16:73), refers to all that is necessary to sustain and develop life in all its phases, spiritual and mental, as well as physical. Allah Most Gracious is the Source of all our Sustenance, and if we persist in looking to Vanities for our Sustenance, we are pursuing a mirage, and, if we examine the matter, we are only following obstinate impulses of rebellion and impiety.

English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Umer bin Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard The Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) saying, "If you all depend on Allah with due reliance, He would certainly give you provision as He gives it to birds who go forth hungry in the morning and return with full belly at dusk".
[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2344].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Mulk Ayat 21. Who is he that can provide for you if He should withhold His provision?” Trust in Allah does not mean that one should not give any importance to material resources. What it really means is that along with their due importance, one should have full trust in Allah. Without His Will, material resources are of no avail. But nevertheless, it is necessary to have material resources because their procurement is also ordained by Him. Birds do not keep sitting in their nests for food but fly out in search of it.
