English Translation of Al-Quran
[02] Surah Al-Baqarah [The Cow]
Ayat 238. Guard strictly (five obligatory) AsSalawat (the prayers) especially the middle Salat (i.e. the best prayer 'Asr). And stand before Allah with obedience [and do not speak to others during the Salat (prayers)].
Ayat 239. And if you fear (an enemy), perform Salad (pray) on foot or riding. And when you are in safety, offer the Salad (prayer) in the manner He has taught you, which you knew not (before).
Tafseer of Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 238. Guard strictly your (habit of) prayers, especially the Middle Prayer; and stand before Allah in a devout (frame of mind). The Middle Prayer. Al Salat al wusta : may be translated "the best or most excellent prayer." Authorities differ as to the exact meaning of this phrase. The weight of authorities seems to be in favour of interpreting this as the 'Asr prayer (in the middle of the afternoon). This is apt to be most neglected, and yet this is the most necessary, to remind us of Allah in the midst of our worldly affairs. 239. If ye fear (an enemy), pray on foot, or riding, (as may be most convenient), but when ye are in security, celebrate Allah's praises in the manner He has taught you, which ye knew not (before). Verses 238-239 are parenthetical, introducing the subject of prayer in danger. This is more fully dealt with in 4:101-03.

English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Ibn Masud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: He who likes to meet Allah tomorrow (i.e., on the Day of Requital) as a Muslim, should take care and observe the Salat when the Adhan is announced for them. Allah has expounded to your Prophet
[SAWW](PBUH) the ways of right guidance, and these (the prayers) are part of the right guidance. If you have to perform Salat in your houses, as this man who stays away (from the mosque) and performs Salat in his house, you will abandon the Sunnah (practice) of your Prophet (PBUH), and the departure from the Sunnah of your Prophet
[SAWW](PBUH) will lead you astray. I have seen the time when no one stayed behind except a well-known hypocrite. I also saw that a man was brought swaying (on account of weakness) between two men till he was set up in a row (in the mosque).
[Muslim Book # 04, Chapter 85, Hadith # 1376].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 238. Guard strictly (five obligatory) AsSalawat (the prayers)”
)" This Hadith makes the following four points: 1.Emphasis on performing Salat in congregation.
2.The passion of the Companions of the Prophet
[SAWW](PBUH) for Salat.
3.Evasion from Salat with congregation is a practice of hypocrites.
4.Inducement for following the Sunnah of the Prophet
[SAWW](PBUH) because evasion from it is bound to lead one astray.
"Between the ends of the day'' means Fajar and Maghreb prayers. Some people think it refers to `Isha' prayer while some think it means the Maghreb and `Isha' prayers. "In some hours of the night'' means the Tahajjud prayers. This Ayah of the Qur'an has been quoted here to stress that Salat is an act of great virtue and an expiation of sins, but only for minor sins because the major sins will not be pardoned without sincere repentance.
