English Translation of Al-Quran

[18].Surah Al-Kahf [The Cave]

Ayat 64. [Musa (AS)(Moses)] said: "That is what we have been seeking." So they went back retracing their footsteps.

Ayat 65. Then they found one of Our slaves, unto whom We had bestowed mercy from Us, and whom We had taught knowledge from Us.

Tafseer Surah Al-Kahf Ayat 64 & 65 (He said) Moses (PBUH) said: (This is that which we have been seeking) as an indication from Allah to Khidr (they retraced their steps again) they went back, following their own footsteps. (Then found they) at the rock (one of Our slaves) i.e. Khidr, (unto whom We had given mercy from Us) He says: We favoured him with prophethood, (and had taught him knowledge from Our presence) the knowledge of future events.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah cid:DC375303F6C8425384C8E7238B652057@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) delivered a Khutbah and said, "O people! Hajj (pilgrimage to the House of Allah) has been made incumbent upon you, so perform Hajj.'' A man inquired: "O Messenger of Allah cid:DC375303F6C8425384C8E7238B652057@gmail[SAWW](PBUH), is it prescribed every year?'' He cid:DC375303F6C8425384C8E7238B652057@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) remained silent till the man repeated it thrice. Then he cid:DC375303F6C8425384C8E7238B652057@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) said, "Had I replied in the affirmative, it would have surely become obligatory, and you would not have been able to fulfill it.'' Afterwards he said, "Do not ask me so long as I do not impose anything upon you, because those who were before you were destroyed on account of their frequent questioning and their disagreement with their Prophets. So when I order you to do something, do it as far as you can; and when I forbid you from doing anything, eschew it.''

[Muslim Book 07, Chapter 71, Hadith # 3095].

Lesson : This Hadith brings out the following points:

1. Hajj is compulsory once in a lifetime for those who have the means for it.

2. Unnecessary questioning is disliked.

3. Those who believe in Allah and His Prophet cid:DC375303F6C8425384C8E7238B652057@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) are required to do what they are ordained and abstain from what they are forbidden.
