English Translation of Al-Quran

[03] Surah Al-Imran [The Family of Imran]

Ayat 52. Then when 'Iesa PBUH (Jesus) came to know of their disbelief, he said: "Who will be my helpers in Allah’s Cause?" Al-Hawariun (the disciples) said: "We are the helpers of Allah; we believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e. we submit to Allah)."

Ayat 53. Our Lord! We believe in what You have sent down, and we follow the Messenger ['Iesa PBUH (Jesus)]; so write us down among those who bear witness (to the truth i.e. La ilaha ill-Allah - none has the right to be worshipped but Allah).

Tafseer of Surah Al-Imran Ayat 52 & 53. When Jesus found Unbelief on their part He said: "Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah." Said the disciples: "We are Allah’s helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims. (Cf. 5:11 ) The story of Jesus is told with special application to the time of the Prophet Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH). Note the word helpers (Ansar) in this connection, and the reference to plotters in 3:54. It was the one Religion-the Religion of Allah, which was in essence the religion of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. The argument runs: who do ye then now make divisions and reject the living Teacher? Islam is: bowing to the Will of Allah. All who have faith should bow to the Will of Allah and be Muslims. 53. "Our Lord! we believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow the Messenger. then write us down among those who bear witness."

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said: "Glorify your Lord in Ruku` (bowing posture) and exert yourself in supplication in prostration. Thus your supplications are liable to be accepted.''

[Muslim Book 004, Chapter 37, Hadith # 970].

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said, "A slave becomes nearest to his Rubb when he is in prostration. So increase supplications while prostrating.''

[Muslim Book 004, Chapter 37, Hadith # 979]

Lesson: Both the Ahadith mentioned above, evidently show that there is greater possibility of acceptance of an invocation which is made in prostration. Therefore, one must do it in the voluntary Salat.
