English Translation of Al-Quran

[13].Surah Ar-Ra'd [The Thunder]

Ayat 20. Those who fulfill the Covenant of Allah and break not the Message (bond, treaty, covenant);

Ayat 21. Those who join that which Allah has commanded to be joined (i.e. they are good to their relatives and do not sever the bond of kinship), fear their Lord, and dread the terrible reckoning.

Tafseer Surah Ar-Ra'd Ayat 20 & 21. Those who fulfil the covenant of Allah and fail not in their plighted word; 21. Those who join together those things which Allah hath commanded to be joined, hold their Lord in awe, and fear the terrible reckoning; That is, join faith with practice, love of Allah with love of man, and respect for all Prophets alike, i.e., follow the universal Religion, and not odd bits of it (i.e. abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which Allah has forbidden and perform all kinds of good deeds which Allah has ordained).

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ali (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah cid:91F72F7377E8478BAEB9CD02DC0BB614@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) said to me, "Recite: `Allahumma-hdini wa saddidni (O Allah! Direct me to the Right Path and make me adhere to the Straight Path).'' Another narration is: `Allahumma inni as'aluk-alhuda was-sadad (I beg You for guidance and uprightness).''

[Muslim Book 35, Chapter 17, Hadith # 6573].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ar-Ra'd Ayat 20. "Those who fulfill the Covenant of Allah and break not. This Hadith brings out the following points "As-Sadad'' means correctness and uprightness. Here, it signifies "please grant me the ability to do everything in a correct manner'', that is in accordance with the practice of the Prophet (PBUH). Some scholars of Hadith have interpreted it as steadfastness and moderation. Both interpretations accord well with its original meanings.
