English Translation of Al-Quran
[23].Surah Al-Muminun [The Believers]
Ayat 78. It is He, Who has created for you (the sense of) hearing (ears), sight (eyes), and hearts (understanding). Little thanks you give.
Ayat 79. And it is He Who has created you on the earth, and to Him you shall be gathered back.
Ayat 80. And it is He Who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of night and day. Will you not then understand?
Ayat 81. Nay, but they say the like of what the men of old said.
Tafseer Surah Al-Mu'minun Ayat 78 to 81. It is He Who has created for you (the faculties of) hearing, sight, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give! As elsewhere, "heart" is to be understood as the set of both feeling and intelligence. 'All the means by which knowledge can be gathered, judgment formed, and goodness cultivated, are provided for you by Allah. If you were grateful, you would use those in His service, which is expressed in your service to your fellow men. But instead you ignore these gifts, question Allah's Providence, and blaspheme against Him!' And He has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall ye be gathered back. It is He Who gives life and death, and to Him (is due) the alternation of Night and Day: will ye not then understand? The alternation of Night and Day stands here as a symbol for all the beneficent processes of Nature provided by Allah for the comfort and growth of man's outer and inner life. On the contrary they say things similar to what the ancients said. And they are the more culpable, as they have received a later and more complete revelation. Why should they now stand on the primitive ideas of their ancestors?.

English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Shaddad bin Aus (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "A wise man is the one who calls himself to account (and refrains from doing evil deeds) and does noble
deeds to benefit him after death; and the foolish person is the one who subdues himself to his temptations and desires and seeks from Allah the fulfillment of his vain desires".
[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2459]
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Mu'minun Ayat 80."Will you not then understand? " This Hadith highlights the importance of the accountability of one's self. Mere desires which are not coupled with practical efforts are of no avail because Allah grants reward on good deeds and not on yearnings and desires which are not supported by noble actions.
