English Translation of Al-Quran
[24].Surah An-Nur [The Light]
Ayat 22. And let not those among you who are blessed with graces and wealth swear not to give (any sort of help) to their kinsmen, Al-Masakin (the poor), and those who left their homes for Allah's Cause. Let them pardon and forgive. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Tafseer Surah An-Nur Ayat 22, The immediate reference was to Hazrat Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him), the father of Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her). He was blessed both with spiritual grace from Allah and with ample means, which he always used in the service of Islam and of Muslims. One of the slanderers of Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) turned out to be Hazrat Mistah (May Allah be pleased with him), a cousin of Hazrat Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him), whom he had been in the habit of supporting. Naturally Hazrat Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him)wished to stop that aid, but according to the highest standards of Muslim ethics he was asked to forgive and forget, which he did, with the happiest results to the peace and unity of the Muslim community. But the general application holds good for all time. A generous patron should not, in personal anger, withdraw his support even for serious faults if the delinquent repents and mends his ways. If Allah forgives us, who are we to refuse forgiveness to our fellows?

English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Abu Bakar (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Mention of a man was made to the Prophet
[SAWW](PBUH) and someone praised him whereupon he
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "Woe be to you! You have broken the neck of your friend!'' He
[SAWW](PBUH) repeated this several times and added, "If one of you has to praise his friend at all,
he should say: `I reckon him to be such and such and Allah knows him well', if you think him to be so-and-so, you will be accountable to Allah because no one can testify the purity of others against Allah.''
[Al-Bukhari Volume 8, Book 73, Number 087].
Lesson : This Hadith prohibits us from praising anyone in his face. If at all one has to praise someone, he should say that "In my opinion he is such and such,'' provided he really thinks as he says. The reason for this is that it is Allah Alone Who knows him thoroughly and none can claim to be innocent before Him.
