English Translation of Al-Quran

[03] Surah Al-Imran [The Family of Imran]

Ayat 81. And (remember) when Allah took the Covenant of the Prophets, saying: "Take whatever I gave you from the Book and Hikmah (understanding of the Laws of Allah, etc.), and afterwards there will come to you a Messenger (Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH), confirming what is with you; you must, then, believe in him and help him." Allah said: "Do you agree (to it) and will you take up My Covenant (which I conclude with you)?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness; and I am with you among the witnesses (for this)."

Ayat 82. Then whoever turns away after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious: those who turn away from Allah’s Obedience).

Tafseer of Surah Al-Imran Ayat 81 & 82. Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets(416), saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses." 416 Cf. 2:63, n. 78, and 33:7. The argument is: You (People of the Book) are bound by your own oaths, sworn solemnly in the presence of your own Prophets. In the Old Testament as it now exists, Muhammad is foretold in Deut. 18:18; and the rise of the Arab nation in Isaiah 42:11, for Kedar was a son of Isma'il PBUH and the name is used for the Arab nation. Also, in the New Testament as it now exists, Muhammad is foretold in the Gospel of St. John, 14:16 , 15:26 , and 16:7; the future Comforter cannot be the "Holy Spirit" as understood by Christians, because the Holy Spirit already was present, helping and guiding Jesus. The Greek word translated "Comforter" is "Paracletos", which is an easy corruption from "Periclytos", which is almost a literal translation of "Muhammad" or "Ahmad"; see 7:157 and 61:6. Further, there were other Gospels that have perished, but of which traces still remain, which were even more specific in their reference to Muhammad; e.g., the Gospel of St. Barnabas, of which an Italian translation is extant in the State Library at Vienna . It was edited in 1907 with an English translation by Mr. Lonsdale and Laura Ragg. 82. If any turn back after this, they are perverted transgressors.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Masud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said to me: "Recite the Qur'an to me". I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Shall I recite the Qur'an to you, when it has been revealed to you?'' He image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) replied, "I love to hear it recited by others". So I recited to him a portion from Surat An-Nisa'. When I reached the Ayah: "How (will it be) then, when We bring from each nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) as a witness against these people?". (4:41) He image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Enough for now". When I looked at him I saw his eyes were shedding tears.

[Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 60, Hadith # 106].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Imran Ayat 81. And (remember) when Allah took the Covenant of the Prophets, saying: "Take whatever I gave you from the Book and Hikmah” and in in Surah Al-Ahzab Ayat 08. “Allah may ask the truthful (His Messengers and Prophets) about their truth (i.e. the conveyance of Allah’s Message” This Hadith tells us that besides the recitation of the Noble Qur'an, a Muslim should also listen to it from others so that he can contemplate further on it. It also makes one weep when one listens to the Noble Qur'an.
