[11] Surah Hud (PBUH) [Hud]
Ayat 101. We wronged them not, but they wronged themselves. So their aliha (gods), other than Allah, whom they invoked, profited them naught when there came the Command of your Lord, nor did they add aught (to their lot) but destruction.
Ayat 102. Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful, and severe .
Tafseer of Surah Hud (PBUH) Ayat 101 & 102. It was not We that wronged them: They wronged their own souls: the deities, other than Allah, whom they invoked, profited them no whit when there issued the decree of thy Lord: Nor did they add aught (to their lot) but perdition! All false and fleeting shadows must vanish before the reality and permanence of the decree of Allah. If we worshipped the false, we earned nothing but perdition. 102. Such is the chastisement of thy Lord when He chastises communities in the midst of their wrong: grievous, indeed, and severe is His chastisement.
Hadith
English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah 
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "Verily, Allah gives respite to the oppressor. But when He seizes him, He does not let him escape.'' Then he (PBUH)) recited, "Such is the Seizure of your Rubb when He seizes the (population of) towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful (and) severe". (11:102).
[Al-Bukhari Volume-6, Book 60, Hadith # 208]
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Hud Ayat 102. " Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful, and severe ." One should not take the respite for exemption because no one knows when respite granted by Him will come to an end and punishment will follow.
