[02] Surah Al-Baqarah [The Cow]

Ayat 212. Beautified is the life of this world for those who disbelieve, and they mock at those who believe. But those who obey Allah’s Orders and keep away from what He has forbidden, will be above them on the Day of Resurrection. And Allah gives (of His Bounty, Blessings, Favours, Honours, etc. on the Day of Resurrection) to whom He wills without limit.

Tafseer of Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 212 The life of this world is alluring to those who reject faith, and they scoff at those who believe. But the righteous will be above them on the Day of Resurrection; for Allah bestows His abundance without measure on whom He will Allah's gifts in this world seem unequal, and sometimes those who get them

seem to deserve them least. Allah's bounty is unlimited to the just as well as the unjust. In His wisdom He may give to whomsoever He pleases. The account is not taken now, but will be taken in the end, when the balance will be redressed.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Sahl bin Saad (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Were this world worth a wing of mosquito, He would not have given a drink of water to an (Kafir) infidel.''

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2320].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 212. Beautified is the life of this world for those who disbelieve, and they mock at those who believe” This Hadith makes it clear that the world and its wealth and riches have no significance to Allah. Thus, it should not have much significance to the believers. It should be considered a means to reform the Afterlife, or a place of trial.
