[16].Surah An-Nahl [The Bees]

Ayat 125. Invite (mankind, O Muhammad cid:8C1DE5D26C004DC0964C53413D688E6E@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided. Tafseer Surah Al Nahl Ayat 125. Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knows best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance. In this wonderful passage are laid down principles of religious teaching, which are good for all time. But where are the Teachers with such qualifications? We must invite all to the Way of Allah, and expound His Universal Will; we must do it with wisdom and discretion, meeting people on their own ground and convincing them with illustrations from their own knowledge and experience, which may be very narrow, or very wide. Our preaching must be, not dogmatic, not self-regarding, not offensive, but gentle, considerate, and such as would attract their attention. Our manner and our arguments should not be acrimonious, but modelled on the most courteous and the most gracious example, so that the hearer may say to himself, "This man is not dealing merely with dialectics; he is not trying to get a rise out of me; he is sincerely expounding the faith that is in him, and his motive is the love of man and the love of Allah." It may be that the Preacher sometimes says to himself, "What is the use of teaching these people? They have made up their minds, or they are obstinate, or they are only trying to catch me out." Let him not yield to such a thought. Who knows how the seed of the Word of Allah may germinate in people's minds? It is not for man to look for results. Man's inner thoughts are known best to Allah.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah cid:8C1DE5D26C004DC0964C53413D688E6E@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) said, "My parable and that of yours is like a man who kindled a fire. When it has illuminated all around him, the moths and grasshoppers began to fall therein. He tried to push them away, but they overcame him and jumped into it. I am catching hold of your waists ties (to save you) from fire, but you slip away from my hands". [Muslim Book 30, Chapter 06, Hadith # 5672].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah An-Nahl Ayat 125. Invite (mankind, O Muhammad cid:8C1DE5D26C004DC0964C53413D688E6E@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom" This Hadith mentions the extreme kindness which the Prophet cid:8C1DE5D26C004DC0964C53413D688E6E@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) had for the welfare of his followers. It also mentions the misfortune of those who would become the fuel of Hell for not accepting Islam in spite of the utmost affection and devotion of the Prophet cid:8C1DE5D26C004DC0964C53413D688E6E@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) to bring them in the fold of Islam. People who fail to accept Islam would fall in the Hell-fire in the same way moths fall in the fire.
